Pool Openings & Closings

Our pool opening service team at LaGasse Pools and Service is trained at pool opening and closing for residential, municipal, and commercial customers throughout the Sarasota area. Preparing your pool properly for the cooler winter season here in Florida will ensure that when warm weather does arrive, your pool will be ready to be used right away.

Pool Opening Service

When it’s time to open your pool, trust the experts at LaGasse Pools and Service to do the job right. We can re-install accessories such as ladders, handrails, diving boards, lights, pool cleaner, etc. In addition, we’ll reassemble your filter and pumps, including replacing of gaskets and/or seals if needed (parts not included), and we’ll conduct a complete water chemistry check.

Pool Closings: Protect Your Pool in Winter

When the warmer season ends, LaGasse Pools and Service winterizes the pool equipment and all of the pool lines. We then add any necessary chemicals to the pool. A pool closed properly ensures a stress-free opening next season. To close your pool we will lower the water level accordingly; blow out filtration lines and equipment and install winter plugs; drain your pool’s filtration, heating, and pumping equipment;  remove the pool sweep and store it on your property; cover the diving board; install an ice protection container in the skimmer; and cover the filtering equipment with plastic.

Our pool opening service includes:
  • Installation of skimmer Basket/s and Return Eyeballs
  • Installation of all Deck Equipment (Ladder, Handrails, Diving Board, Lights)
  • Light Heater Pilot
  • Prime and Start Pool Pump
  • Visually Inspect Pump, Filter, and Heater for Proper Operations
  • Add Chlorine Tablets, Super Chlorination (Shock), and an Algaecide Treatment

As the temperature starts to drop in Florida, we will provide you the best service necessary to close your pool. A pool is an expensive investment, and to protect that investment, a professional should handle your pool closing.

Our pool closing service includes:
  • Removal of Skimmer Basket’s and Return Eyeballs
  • Removal of all Deck Equipment, such as Ladders, Handrails, Lights. (We do not remove Diving Boards Due to Liability.)
  • Proper Winterizing of Pool Equipment (Filter, Pumps, Heater, Chlorinator, Etc.)
  • Blowout of All Pool Related Water Lines using an “Air Compressor”. We also add Antifreeze where needed.
  • Addition of Winter Chemicals (Non-Chlorine Shock, Winter Algaecide, Mineral Control Agent)
